They did it! Another world record for Team Wild Waves

NMS-sponsored Team Wild Waves has done it again - completing the ‘World’s Toughest Row - Pacific Ocean’ in 37 days, 11 hours and 43 minutes, Charlotte Harris and Jessica Oliver have broken the world record for a Pacific crossing by a twin team by an astounding 9 days.

The race is a technically challenging, wild and bio-diverse 2,800 miles, across the Pacific ocean stretching from Monterey, California to Hanalei, Kaua’i.

  • Prior to ‘World’s Toughest Row - Pacific 2024’, just 33 crews have successfully rowed from mainland USA to the Hawaiian islands

  • Of the 33 crews to have completed the voyage only 11 were all female

  • The average crossing time for all crew sizes is 62 days.

Team Wild Waves was formed in 2020 when they signed up for the Atlantic Challenge – it was completed on 26 January 2022, in a record-breaking 45 days, 7 hours and 25 minutes at sea, becoming the fastest female pair to ever row the Atlantic Ocean.
